Underwater Words I & II is inspired by the Underwater Haiku Exquisite Corpse Creation, a collaborative and creative project that challenged diverse audiences to think and share their views about rivers and underwater environments. The Underwater Haiku project was co-created by Swansea University’s FIRE Lab in collaboration with poet Asha Sahni and 106 people from around the world.
The project was designed prior to the Covid-19 pandemic. We saw the physical distancing responses to COVID-19 as both a challenge and an opportunity to co-create from a distance, a way of coming together despite being apart.
