Ciara Long
Ciara uses drawing to record the world around her, gaining inspiration from a multitude of sources. Drawing from activities such as travel, rummaging through antique shops or even just making a cup of tea, all feature in her daily drawing journals, which influence her work. This spontaneity fuels the content of more considered designs. Her serendipitous approach and multi-disciplinary practice focuses on producing illustrative patterns and designs for a diverse application.
Ciara explores the realms of surface texture in the form of embroidery, foiling, traditional printmaking, laser cutting and digital image manipulation, all processes which add tactility and intrigue to final outcomes. Her practice is flexible, fresh and diverse.
