Summer Holiday ActivitiesArtist Led Workshops

There is a diverse programme of art activity taking place throughout the summer at Mission Gallery.
Our workshops and guided tours specifically for children and families are inspired by Richard James New Paintings exhibition. Children can experiment with mark making, self portraiture and sculpture with artist Jessica Hoad, or create their very own painting robot, made from old and broken electronic toys with artist Sean Olsen.
Please contact Emma Cartwright, our Learning & Participation Officer, for more information and to book a place. Workshops take place 11am - 2pm on the first floor and cost £5 - pre payment essential and materials are provided, Guided Tours are free. Please bring a packed lunch and notify us of any allergies or medical conditions.
Self and the Senses
A self portrait class for children, led by artist Jessica Hoad – children will experiment with different ways of drawing and painting, inspired by Richard James’s exhibition ‘New Paintings’. |

Mission Robots
Let your children become mad scientists and create their very own painting robot out of old and broken electronic objects – this workshop is led by artist Sean Olsen, joint recipient of the 'Welsh Artist of the Year 2013 Sculpture Prize'.

Make your Mark
Artist Jessica Hoad will be leading an experimental mark-making class. This fun and unusual approach to drawing will encourage children to draw with a range of new mediums.
