Creative SketchbookingWorkshop

11am-4pm | £30 (Discount available for Friends of Mission Gallery and previous workshop attendees) | Suitable for ages 16+

Scared of the white paper and don’t know where to start when opening a sketchbook? Learn the importance of mark making, producing backgrounds for sketchbooks and artwork to help give a different depth and texture to work. This workshops will allow participants to try new methods that will enhance the way they work and techniques to get creativity flowing on the page. The outcome of the day will be many decorated papers and fabrics, printed and manipulated, and the ability to give an alternative dimension to working creatively as well as knowing how to begin making art with confidence.

Karen Teal has been an Art and Textiles teacher for 32 years. Originally from North Wales, she has gained extensive experience teaching in China and Switzerland, recently returning home to Wales. Karen is passionate about all forms of art and textiles and encourages students to develop skills, concepts, understanding and creativity with confidence. Within her teaching, Karen stimulates participation, exploration of feelings and knowledge, all expressed with skill and a sense of commitment. Her teaching provokes a heightened personal confidence and independence, all underpinned by a passion for creativity.
