We EchoTaylor Edmonds
26 November - 14 January 2023
We Echo is a poetry and dance film that tells a magical story of a girl that is both human and of the natural world. She leaves the dying city she has loved to return to nature and help the land heal. Through a snapshot of her past, we learn that this is the destiny of the female lineage of her family, who are all called to return to nature by the sea through a dream of the end of the world.
Inspired by Taylor’s time as Poet in Residence for the Future Generations Commissioner for Wales, We Echo explores the ways we are inherently linked to nature; for our survival, wellbeing and spirituality. The piece seeks to mythologise the connection between humans and nature through magic and dream-like imagery.
Taylor Edmonds is a poet and writer from Barry in South Wales. Her debut poetry pamphlet Back Teeth is out now with Broken Sleep Books.
