Designing computer games requires team work. Games studios are made up of teams of people with various skills, each one a necessary process and stage in the realisation of a playable game. The work shown here illustrates a breakdown of these specialist skills: concept art, storyboarding, character design, level and asset design through to realising these concepts in 3D, texture art and building control rigs for animation. This work has been made by current students about to begin their 3rd year this October.

Computer games are a major growth industry worth billions of pounds in theUKevery year. This programme gives you the skills necessary for this industry and gives you the opportunity to create a substantial portfolio of work to showcase your talent to potential employers.

About | Creative Computer Games Design at Swansea Metropolitan

The BA (Hons) Creative Computer Games Design course has been created through extensive dialogue with industry leaders such as Codemasters, Electronic Arts, and Lionhead Studios. Their strong links with these companies have enabled them to design a programme which will produce highly skilled computer games character and environment artists who are well prepared for future trends in this rapidly evolving medium.

Graduates from this course have gone on to work at Rockstar on Grand Theft Auto 5, Travellers Tales on Lego Star Wars 3, Electronic Arts on various releases, and a collection of iPhone iOS and Android games through smaller independent companies.
