Nia Rist is a screen printer and textile designer specialising in graphical hand printed products for the contemporary interior market. Her products range from handprinted lampshades, cushions, furniture and accessories, printing both one off bespoke prints and repeated prints within her collection.
With a distinctive graphical style, she uses collaging as the basis to her ideas, which is then translated directly onto fabric using handout stencils. Serendipity often plays a leading role within her practice, composing her print as she goes, allowing her freedom to play.
Screen printing has always resides within the heart of Nia’s practice, using the process to celebrate the relationship between graphical oversized motifs and repeated prints in a monochromatic palette. With black being a focal colour palette, it has allowed her to immerse herself with pattern.
