“To nurture development and push the boundaries of Visual and Applied Art”
The aim of ‘Maker in Focus’ is to present excellence in applied art. Traditionally this has been used to showcase work from a single maker, yet following a tour of graduate shows and New Designers it soon became apparent that choosing one emerging maker for this Graduate Showcase was an impossible task. Following Mission Gallery’s established reputation for supporting artists and makers, it was decided to award five graduates from Wales and beyond with this showcase opportunity, the first of hopefully many.
These graduates have showcased excellence within their specialist field; highlighting those that are pushing the boundaries of Craft and Applied Art traditions.
