Eventbrite - Echoing Sound and Weave | Course for Adults

Course dates: May 5th, June 2nd, August 4th & September 1st

The “Echoing Sound and Weave” course reflects the popularity of the 'Sound and Weave' exhibition at Swansea College of Art UWTSD and the tapestry weave weekend workshop with Alastair Duncan at Mission Gallery in March.

This series of Sunday workshops will also focus on sound as a starting point for design in tapestry weaving and will allow both beginners and more experienced weavers to expand their experience of both audio interpretation in design as well as basic and more advanced techniques in tapestry weaving.

This course will include short sound walks and different approaches to interpreting sound in visual and textural terms with the aim of developing understanding and experience in tapestry weaving through producing small wall hangings.

Available places: 8

Equipment and materials: A range of yarns and materials will be provided but participants are welcome to supply their own. Tapestry frames and bobbins will also be provided.

LOCATION: Mission Gallery
