Chinese Paper Cutting - Scissor Style with Weixin Liu
Artist bio:
Weixin Liu was born in China and has lived in Swansea for many years. From a young age, Weixin has had a deep interest in arts and crafts. Since relocating to Swansea, she has been passionate about promoting Chinese culture more widely and meaningfully within the community.
Weixin has worked as a community artist for several years, using her creative skills to engage and inspire others. After earning her Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PgCE), she began collaborating with various communities to support wellbeing and personal development through the arts. She is dedicated to sharing her skills and knowledge, and takes great joy in empowering others through creative expression.
Outline
Explore the graceful folk art of Chinese paper cutting using scissors. You'll learn to fold and snip paper into intricate designs creating beautful paper pieces that symbolize luck, happiness, and celebration.
No prior experience is needed and all materials will be included.

Materials are provided, limited places, booking is essential. Please inform us of any access requirements, allergies or medical conditions.
Access is by one-step entry from pavement level through our main entrance.
The workshops will take place in the gallery and education space located on the first floor of the gallery.
Due to building limitations access to the first floor education space is via steep stairs.
Staff are on hand to provide assistance if needed.
