After years of neglect, Swansea’s West pier has been regenerated. As the British Port Authority began repairing the damaged pier, they began altering a structure that although has been deteriorating for years, has remained an integral place for Swansea locals to fish, relax, socialise, and get away from the city.
For months prior to the beginning of the building work, I began documenting the people that make this place so unique. What I discovered is an extraordinary mosaic of diversity, resilience and ingenuity of the people who frequent this often-forgotten part of the city.
