Disability Arts Cymru (DAC) believes that Disabled and Deaf People have an exciting and valuable contribution to make to the arts in Wales. We are committed to working with individuals and organisations to celebrate the diversity of Disabled & Deaf People’s arts and culture, and develop equality across all art forms. As a national advocacy agency, DAC provides a range of support and creative advice, training (Disability Equality Training & Mental Health First Aid) and professional development opportunities to approximately 400 members working across Wales.
DAC is an Arts Portfolio Wales client and the lead organisation for Disability and the Arts in Wales; with regional officers in North West, North East, West and South Wales. Over the 35 years that DAC has been operating, the organisation has developed a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience within the specialist field of advocacy in the arts; specifically orientated to support those people with additional needs caused by a long term physical and/or mental health condition. We are a registered charity and membership organisation, providing a voice for disabled and Deaf people throughout Wales in all matters relating to the arts.
