Textiles is a unifying element to Shellie Holden's work enabling her to explore the material aspects of surface, and textual elements of print through processes of stitching and tracing; repairing and piecing, to synthesise the technical with the conceptual.
Through the process of stitching, each piece is turned into an individual artefact. The process comments on the time spent in the making and the evidence of memory which is left in the trace of the thread.
