Portfolio ExhibitionNeath Port Talbot and Swansea Year 9, 10 and 11 students

17 June - 16 July 2017

Portfolio is an Arts Council of Wales initiative focusing on developing Year 10 and 11 pupils from the Neath Port Talbot and Swansea areas, in the applied and visual arts. The programme allows participants to take part in a variety of professional led Masterclasses, in Mission Gallery and Swansea College of Art, UWTSD.

Portfolio offers these young people a series of creative activities in the form of MasterClasses, led by Artists and Designers at the top of their fields. By offering new knowledge and techniques- alongside access to professional equipment, Portfolio aims to support and develop the confidence of young artists in Wales. The Artists and Designers involved have thoughtfully engaged in sharing their practice with the participants- offering a wider investigation into Art and Design practice, and also an insight into future possibilities of creative careers and academic courses.

The outcomes of all of the MasterClasses are brought together in this end of project exhibition, showcasing the journey and creative development of these young people. This exhibition will feature explorations in the following disciplines: Drawing, Printing, Making, Animation, Photography and Ceramics.

The Artists and Designers who worked with the participants are Bella Kerr, Jason & Becky, Keith Bayliss, Philip Cheater, Tim Stokes, Ryan Moule, Lyndon Davies and Lee Williams.

The exhibition has been curated by Katherine Clewett and Portfolio participants, and will take place in The White Walls Gallery in the National Waterfront Museum.
