Criw Celf ExhibitionNeath Port Talbot and Swansea Year 5 & 6 pupils

08 July - 31 July 2017

Criw Celf is an Arts Council of Wales funded project for children who have shown a talent and special interest in Art and Design. Young people from Swansea and Neath Port Talbot in Years 5 and 6, are chosen from within their schools to join Criw Celf- in doing so recieve a unique opportunity to develop their creative practice and knowledge, of the visual and applied arts.

Over thirty pupils took part in six Masterclasses. These pupils have had the opportunity to experiment and explore a range of artistic techniques within creative workshops. The programme offered them the chance to work in a gallery, or an artist's studio- whilst guided by professional Artists and Designers. All of whom are thoughtfully engaged in sharing their practice, and providing a vehicle for young peoples' creativity. These Masterclasses took place in Mission Gallery and Swansea College of Art, UWTSD.

The outcomes of each workshop are brought together to form this end of project exhibition, showcasing the journey and development of the Criw Celf group.

The Artists and Designers working on Criw Celf this year are Keith Bayliss, Catrin Webster, Tim Stokes, David Chambers and Lyndon Davies.

The exhibition has been curated by Keith Bayliss and Criw Celf participants, and will be shown in The Colonade in the National Waterfront Museum.
