TaT CollaborationsThe Maker

17 January - 21 March 2026

Shellie Holden, Sian Lester and Imogen Mills are three artists working collaboratively as ‘TaT’. We are practice-based makers, researchers, and lecturers acknowledging how our practices and working lives are both interwoven and entangled.

We work with the expansive nature of stitch- dye- weave through co-creation, offering reciprocal care, kinship and consideration to each other and our environment. We consider the work of feminist new materialists (Barad, Braidotti, Haraway and Bennett), and ask ourselves, how can we evoke intra-actions as fibrous encounter, to consider an aesthetic-ethical dimension for thinking with and through textiles, as matter.

We develop work in dialogue with each other, as well as other agents; materials, processes, texts, objects, subjects; responding to the rhythms and rituals of daily life. We consider the ethical and ecological as the micro and marginal within the political, utilising foraged and found materials, and textile methods to challenge dominant patriarchal structures, through TaT (textile and text), writing ourselves into the process of making, whilst also stepping aside.

Materialising through experimental process, this work includes textiles, (found) artefacts, objects, and instillations, utilising soft and sculptural making, film, sound, printmaking, text, collage, concrete poetry, stitch and photography - the resulting process producing an accumulation of interdisciplinary encounters and interventions, which are responsive and reflexive in nature.
