The influence behind Sarah’s textile work is unveiling the essence of Pembrokeshire’s coastal strata. Cliffs along this rugged coastline are more than geological formations, they are living narratives, storytellers of time, and nature’s perpetual dance. Their brooding and awe-inspiring presence has become her muse, guiding her to witness the subtle nuances of their transformation through the seasons.
Her artistic process includes meticulously observing and documenting the colour and texture of these cliffs. Drawing from this rich visual tapestry, she delves into an intricate world of hand-dyed fabric and thread, engaging in experimentation with fabric manipulation, machine, and hand embroidery.
