Make Along Sessions For Families with Lowri DaviesLowri Davies
05 October - 06 October 2024
As part of Swansea Council’s citywide art celebration We are all artists Mission Gallery invites you to celebrate all things story-telling, through the medium of ceramics and illustration.
Renowned Welsh ceramicist Lowri Davies takes over our exhibition space showcasing selected pieces, both archival and new pieces.
Alongside Lowri’s work, items created by Chinese in Wales Association members, who have worked with Lowri in investigating the cultural heritage links between the Welsh iconography which fascinates Lowri and the Chinese Year of the Dragon, will be shown.
Lowri Davies
Lowri Davies is an Illustrator and Ceramic Artist.
Lowri is known for creating collections of china teacups, jugs and vases which are then characterised by slanted openings and decorated with ink and watercolour drawings.
Her work stems from references of china displays on Welsh dressers, collections of souvenirs and Vibrant illustrations of birds drawn from her own illustrations of Victorian taxidermy collections. These objects and images often refer to a sense of place by reviving iconography and symbolism, which have a deep connection to her roots.
Lowri is an Award-Winning artist based at Fireworks Clay Studios in Cardiff, Wales.
