Eventbrite: Upcycling Fabrics for Creative Sustainability - Felting with Elin Manon

Elin Manon was established in 2018 in South Wales to provide circular, artisan clothing with character. Providing high quality accessories and hand framed knitwear, her designs are imbued with nostalgia, Welsh heritage and sumptuous textiles. Proving that eclectic style and sustainability do go hand in hand. She does things differently opting for small collections in limited batches, creating value in each piece made.

Join us for an engaging and eco-friendly needle felting workshop focused on upcycling fabrics! This hands-on workshop is perfect for beginners and experienced crafters alike, providing an introduction to the art of wool felting while emphasising sustainable practices. Transform discarded fabrics and yarn into beautiful, functional, and artistic creations. Or better yet, bring you own clothing to embellish

What you’ll learn?

-Discover how felting and upcycling contribute to sustainability and help in reducing textile waste

-Learn the basics of felting, what tools and equipment are needed, which fabrics work best, flat textile felting, combining fabrics and some simple shapes

-Discover how you can use materials you already have, like lace net curtains, scrap yarn, old rags and knitted jumpers.

By the end of the workshop you’ll have some felted art pieces of your own and the skills to continue at home.
