Paper Sculptures with Clare Pentlow

Join us at Mission Gallery for a workshop led by artist Clare Pentlow, who is currently showing in our Into the studio exhibition. Clare enjoys challenging the perception of paper as an ordinary material, transforming it to be extraordinary. She is continually inspired by patterns and colours in nature, particularly at a microscopic level. Her own unique style of paper cutting appears to give the paper a fluffy texture.
Join Clare as she shares her passion of paper, turning a flat simple sheet into something extraordinary through hand cutting and folding. You will gain confidence in using a scalpel and cutting clean lines, while trying different techniques and designs. Clare will encourage you to explore and experiment, starting your own journey to create a unique piece of paper art.
Materials and equipment included.
Cost – choose from three donation prices of £15, £25, and £35 plus booking fee.
Tickets are offered at three pricing options. We appreciate if you could support us by buying a ticket at the higher donation if you are able to. All funds raised from our workshops are used to support artists and continue our engagement and outreach programmes.
Access is by one-step entry from pavement level through our main entrance. The workshops will take place in the education space located on the first floor of the gallery. Due to building limitations access to the first floor education space is via steep stairs. Staff are on hand to provide assistance if needed.
Due to the climate we are opperating in, the classes may be cancelled/postponed at short notice. We will however give you as much notice as we can should this be necessary.
