Using pre-roman willow basketry techniques, Lewis will guide you through the process of making this quintessential handled-basket. Quick to make, strong, multi-functional, and sustainable. This basket says so much about our past and can inform how we approach making in the future.
You will learn: How to work with willow, how to make a hoop frame, how to weave the ‘God’s Eye’ knot, and how to infill your frame.
All materials and tools will be provided, but do feel free to bring your own secateurs if you have them.
Wear clothes you don't mind getting a little grubby.
Due to the climate we are opperating in, the classes may be cancelled/postponed at short notice. We will however give you as much notice as we can should this be necessary.
