Robin Huw Bowen ‘Telynor Cymru II’
Following in the footsteps of Nansi Richards ‘Telynores Maldwyn’, Robin Huw Bowen champions the Welsh Triple Harp as a true national icon of Wales.
During a career spanning over forty years, he has introduced this uniquely Welsh instrument and the authentic traditional music of Wales to thousands all over the world. Drawing on his own long research, and using authentic techniques learned from living sources, Robin represents the very soul of the Welsh musical tradition, and gives new vital expression to the music of Wales.
His inspired playing rekindles the very soul of the music and delivers it as a living entity to his listeners. The audience is presented with the true sound and nature of Welsh tradition, reflecting perhaps an earlier aesthetic, but as vibrant and as colourful as it ever was. Robin’s influence on the world of Welsh folk music and harping has been far-reaching.
He undoubtedly ranks among the most important figures that the Welsh folk tradition has produced, and it is no surprise therefore that he is recognized as today’s leading exponent of the Welsh Triple Harp and its music.
