Wire WorkshopRhian Wyn Stone

25 April - 25 April 2013

A workshop for anyone over the age of 16 years, all abilities welcome.

Create a wire sculpture based on a personal photograph, with guidance from artist Rhian Wyn Stone.
Please bring a photograph to work from

Rhian is an emerging Swansea based artist whose work is influenced by the notion of becoming distinct within a world of uniformity. From her degree in Contemporary Crafts in Manchester, Rhian’s work has featured at exhibitions such as New Designers 2010, Art in the Garden 2011 and Welsh Artist of the Year 2012.

Through soft iron wire, Rhian is exploring the contrast between a social and individual ideal, where imperfections are not seen as flaws, rather as characteristics. She wishes to re-engage the viewer with a familiar in order to create a new aesthetic, to immerse them in the work itself, creating an immediate and lasting reaction.
