Keith Bayliss will paint in response to poetry by David Thomas and soundscape by Joe Bayliss. David Thomas will perform at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm & 4pm on Sunday 5th October 2014
Art is not easy. Although sometimes, rarely, it may seem so. If it were easy I would probably not want to do it.
Artists usually make art behind closed doors. Art for me is a solitary endeavour. But on this occasion I decided, maybe foolishly, to spend one working day in Mission gallery making a piece of work surrounded by sounds and words in what is a very public space.
Why? Is a good question. Maybe it is an attempt to force myself to try to examine some of the processes for myself. I prefer to just make and not spend valuable time wondering why. Maybe I am hoping someone visiting the gallery will do the hard work and answer the question for me.

This year marks the centenary of Swansea’s prodigal son, Dylan Thomas’, birth. ‘Lyrical One’ is a collaborative project organised by Mission Gallery and Snug Projects which will take place throughout October 2014. It will comprise of a number of workshop and forum-based gatherings of both students, amateur and professional poets and musicians.
