Join poet Mererid Hopwood and artist Ayessha Quraishi as they take us on their journey of water. Mererid will share her new collection of poems and Ayessha will present her new body of work, demonstrating her unique approach and painting technique.
Mererid and Ayessha have been collaboratively undertaking digital research and development over the past nine months. Not having worked together previously, Mererid and Ayessha have mutually been exploring their memories and associations of water. Personal and cultural histories combine with contemporary events and experiences to inform their brand new work. Profound and beautiful, Mererid and Ayessha are pleased to share their explorations and new collections with you in this one-off event.
Mererid and Ayessha’s collaboration is part of the wider GoDigital project known as Llif بہاؤ Flow.

Llif بہاؤ Flow encompasses five distinct research initiatives. Five Pakistan based artists, who practise independently of each other, came together specifically to explore cultural connections with five creative practitioners based in Wales. Undertaken digitally, these research initiatives have each developed dynamically differently.
The Llif بہاؤ Flow artists are:

Mission Gallery is delighted to be facilitating Llif بہاؤ Flow and is currently presenting an exhibition of the creative research outputs from the participating artists. Llif بہاؤ Flow exhibition includes painting, textiles, sound works, poetry, film and performance. It is on at Mission until 25 February 2023.
This GoDigital project is funded by British Council and is part of the British Council’s Pakistan/UK: New Perspectives programme which marks the 75th anniversary of Pakistan.
