Pizza NightAlternative Dialogues

During August Mission Gallery presents Alternative Dialogues led by artist Owen Griffiths. Continuing on the successful community dialogues that Vetch Veg has already created residents of Sandfields will be offered free pizza in exchange for ideas about their community.
For the past eight months, artist Owen Griffiths has worked closely with Sandfields’ residents on transforming part of the old Vetch football grounds into a community vegetable garden - Vetch Veg. Plot-holders celebrated the June harvest with a feast and produce show outside the Adain Avion fuselage as part of London 2012 Cultural Olympiad.
Now, Vetch Veg is gearing up for the next phase of project activity – Alternative Dialogues in partnership with the Mission Gallery. This project aims to generate ideas and discussion within the community about what the future of both Vetch Veg and the Sandfields could be. Artist Owen Griffiths says,
“Alternative Dialogues invites people to continue to think creatively about our collective future. The pizza night is about extending the relationship of the Vetch to other residents of the Sandfields. We’re encouraging residents to tell us more of their ideas about ways we could change Swansea. In exchange for a pizza we want an idea of how Swansea could become a green paradise.’’
