Pray Baby Pray
Last year, whilst writing for a small publication, I came upon a thought or idea. This small but troublesome thought proposes, that any interrogation or engagement with an artists work should open with the question ‘What do you care about?’.
Over the next few months I shall return to this question as a point of departure and respond as a visual artist. I begin on an adventure of materials and ideas, a series of new artworks in sculptural, performative and written form. Blankets, Counter Culture Books, Confessional Prayers... how does it all add up?
I begin this journey with a two month studio residency linked to Mission Gallery, Swansea, where I look forward to presenting my progress on May 23rd 2012. It will eventually culminate in a new publication artwork later in the year.
