Kate Gilliland

Kate Gilliland is a jewellery designer who graduated with a BA (Hons) in Design Crafts from De Montfort University specialising in jewellery and metalwork. She shares a workshop with other jewellers in the Historic Jewellery Quarter of Birmingham.

 

Kate describes her jewellery as ‘slightly weird but loveable curiosities’. She creates miniature pieces of wearable natural history from found animals transform the little creatures into precious reliquaries. Through the process of casting and using precious metals, Kate invites you to see the tiny detail and beauty in these animals.
