‘Trysor’ is inspired by the beaches of the Yorkshire Coast - my current home. The gems emerging from the metal represents my love of treasure hunting. These treasures are what inspire my creativity. The metal “blob” elements echo the natural shapes of the stones on the beaches, and the fire stains show off the metals natural colours. Experimentation is what drives my making process, and the dents, scratches and hammer marks are the maker’s marks; I want people to see that they have been hand crafted, and for the wearer to experience the making in a visual way. The pieces will change over time, through the wearer; daily activities will change the way each piece looks, transforming them into something new - just as the ocean transforms the coastline.
