Abbott & Ellwood

Living and working on the edge of dramatic moorland outside St Ives, the influence of light and colour that envelopes their garden studio and surrounding ocean landscape can clearly be seen in Abbott and Ellwood's work. Graduating from the Royal College of Art and Middlesex University, they set up a studio in 1990 and created a partnership, firmly rooted in their jewellery and metalwork training. Their recent collection of jewellery and clocks with bold sophisticated use of colour and humour, continues their interest with painted and printed metal and the simple concepts of old tin toys. The success of this colourful range, together with their one-off exhibition pieces and work to commission, their fresh, creative outlook, unique designs and attention to detail, have built them a considerable reputation. Their work is held in many public and private collections and is widely exhibited in the UK, Europe and the USA.
