Surface Pattern Design (Textile Design) with Anna LewisAdult Workshop

This workshop is led by Anna Lewis and takes place at
UWTSD Dynevor Campus, De La Beche Street, Swansea, SA1 3EU
An intense introductory day to Surface Pattern Design will be taught by Swansea College of Art tutor Anna Lewis alongside Surface Pattern Design degree students in the department. You will be shown some inspiring textile designs to start the day and then be taken through a series of textile design processes, starting with experimental drawing and mark making. These designs will then be taken into the print studio where you can experiment and sample using heat press transfer printing and open screen print techniques.
You will leave with a series of samples which can be stitched later if you wish and designs for a small scarf and calico bag.
Feel free to bring specific fabrics to work with if desired. All materials will be provided otherwise.
