Artist Bio
Lisa Burkl (b. 1967, Llanelli) is a mixed media artist specialising in glass. She currently works from Ynysmeudwy in the Swansea Valley as an artist, visiting lecturer, and community art facilitator.
Since qualifying in Architectural Glass in 1991, Lisa has designed and fabricated commissions, exhibited at venues including the 'National Waterfront Museum', Swansea and 'The Ffwrnes', Llanelli, and led workshops across schools, universities, galleries, and community spaces. A qualified teacher with a BA in Architectural Glass and a PGCE from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, she has collaborated widely on participatory art projects, often working with charities to support wellbeing through creativity.
Overview
Join our workshop and explore foil embossing—a fun, hands-on craft using cardboard, yarn, foil, glue, and markers. Create textured, shiny designs by embossing patterns and adding colour for striking tactile artwork anyone can enjoy.
This session can be delivered in Welsh
This workshop will take place in our ground floor exhibition space
This workshop will be led by artist Lisa Burkl and delivered in English and Welsh. The session will provide a safe, creative space for families who are learning Welsh or who would enjoy the opportunity to practice.
All materials will be provided.

Access is by one-step entry from pavement level through our main entrance.
The workshops will take place in the gallery and education space located on the first floor of the gallery.
Due to building limitations access to the first floor education space is via steep stairs.
Staff are on hand to provide assistance if needed.
