Raising the Bar 2014/15AS/A Level Art & Design students from Neath Port Talbot and Carmarthenshire

08 August - 30 August 2015

Mission Gallery Exhibition &  Mission Offsite @ National Waterfront Museum

Mission Gallery are delighted to present the results of this year's Raising the Bar arts education programme, with this exhibition by gifted AS/A Level Art & Design students from Neath Port Talbot and Carmarthenshire.

Mission Gallery is engaging in collaborative and cross county partnerships with Carmarthenshire County Council, Neath Port Talbot Borough Council, and UWTSD Swansea, to deliver an exciting new experience for pupils from schools and colleges within those areas. The programme offers master classes based on the exhibitions programme at Mission Gallery and at UWTSD, Swansea using their specialist equipment and facilities. The workshops are taught by established artists specialising in Drawing, Animation, Glass, Contemporary Arts Practices and Textile Design. Participants also experience artist’s studio visits, study trips to Cardiff and London, plus mentoring support from artists involved in leading Raising the Bar sessions.

This year, Mission Gallery is very proud to have partnered with Ruthin Craft Centre in Denbighshire North Wales, by devising workshops together inspired by our collaborative touring exhibition, ‘Southern Lines and Northern Lights’. The results of these workshops from students in both north and South Wales, will be exhibited in the National Waterfront Museum and curated by Ceri Jones.
