Criw Celf is an Arts Council of Wales funded project for children who have shown a talent and special interest in Art and Design. Children from Swansea and Neath Port Talbot in Years 5 and 6 are chosen from within their schools to join Criw Celf and get a special opportunity to develop their creative practice and knowledge of the visual and applied arts. They took part in six master classes and had the opportunity to experiment and explore a range of art techniques and creative workshops. It offered them the chance to work in a gallery instead of a classroom and to be guided by professional artists, who are thoughtfully engaged in sharing their practice and finding a vehicle for young people’s creativity. The outcomes of each workshop are brought together to form an end of project exhibition, showcasing the journey and development of the Criw Celf group.
