Artist in Residence
August 2005– April 2006

Mission Gallery's Artist in Residence programme offers artists the opportunity to develop their practice and create new work in a new environment.
Mission Gallery is pleased to announce that the gallery’s Artist in Residence is Owen Griffiths. The residency will give Owen space and time to focus on a particular line of enquiry and develop work.
Owen studied Foundation in Art at Swansea Institute of Higher Education and has recently completed a BA Hons in Fine Art at Oxford Brookes University. Owens’ work is centred on the role he can play in contemporary society as a catalyst or instigator; he is also interested in sustainability and environmental issues, working mainly with drawing and performance or live art, such as actions, sound pieces.
This is a completely new and exciting venture for the gallery and one we hope to continue into the future.

Funded through Swansea Arts Forum Trust Small Grants Scheme, with funding from the Urban Cultural fund, channelled via the Millennium Commission.
